Increase Of National Minimum Wage - January 2026

According to a decision of the Council of Ministers dated 23 December 2025, the National Minimum Wage will be increased as of 1st January 2026 as follows:
Upon recruitment, the minimum wage for full-time employment increases from €900 to €979 (Gross Salary).
After the completion of six (6) months of continuous employment with the same employer, the minimum wage increases from €1,000 to €1,088 (Gross Salary).
It is clarified that the following categories of employees are excluded from the application of this Decree:
Employees in the Hotel Industry,
Domestic Workers,
Workers employed in the Agriculture Sector, and
Employees in the Shipping Sector.
Furthermore, it is noted that the full-time working hours applicable to employees in each Economic Activity remain unchanged from those in force prior to the issuance of this Decree and are determined based on the applicable legislation, decree, collective agreement, custom, or established practice. Consequently, the working hours currently applied by each individual enterprise shall continue to apply.
