REMINDER - Deadline for Registration of Beneficial Ownership Data and imposition of fines – 2026
We would like to remind you that all companies incorporated or registered under the Companies Law, Cap. 113, all European Public Limited Companies (SEs), and all Partnerships (hereinafter referred to as “Organizations”) are required to access the Beneficial Ownership Register (BOR) system between 1 October 2026 and 31 December 2026 in order to confirm the details of their Beneficial Owners (BOs) or Senior Management Officials (SMOs), or to complete the due diligence process, as applicable in each case.
Failure to comply by 31st December 2026, regardless of any criminal liability or prosecution of any person, will result in the company or other legal entity being subject to a fine of €100 for the first day of non-compliance, plus an additional €50 for each subsequent day of continued violation, up to a maximum total fine of five thousand euros €5,000.
The Beneficial Ownership Register is entirely electronic, and the confirmation/update must be carried out through the following online portal:
